Photoshoot Spotlight: Sinead Hegarty

Re starting this series with some intention. I want to share some of the  client work that I do, but give you some insight into what working as a professional photographer looks like. Client: Sinead Hegarty

Industry: Wellness Podcast and meditation app

Shoot purpose: Sinead and her team were in need of visuals to accompany the launch of her new meditation app. The images would be use on the app itself, on social media and in various online channels to promote the launch.

Concept: We wanted a space with clean walls and natural light, and possibly with colours that matched the brand. I found the perfect location on an airBnB in Uluwatu, a house by the water, which gave us both the luxurious villa, ocean views, natural light, and access to the beach for a few final shots.

How I got the gig: Sinead is actually a good friend of mine, and we had talked about working together, but the right situation hadn't popped. Before she headed back to Ireland for the summer she new she wanted to get the images ready for the launch, as Bali is a great backdrop for her brand. So with just one weekend left, and a very loose concept, I took over the planning to make sure we had the time to get this done.

Details: The shoot was just 2hrs plus an hour travel each way to the location. We had about 6 different looks, and we had to allocate for cooling down time (the Bali heat is tough for shooting, for hair, for make-up, basically it slows the whole thing down). Our goal was 40 final images including some of her jewelry collection, close ups, vertical and horizontal shots, and some BTS footage.
