What to do for your Photo Biz before the year ends
So it's December... Christmas is around the corner and so is the new year. 2022 has flown by and it has also been the longest ever.
If you are anything like me, you find this time of the year hard for business. You feel like the year is almost done anyway so might as well push your to do-list to 2023 and "start fresh".
My advice? DON'T DO THAT.
Why? because every day counts, and the calendar is just an excuse to keep us organized, not a reason to let our tasks sit around. Trust me, I know, I am a champion at procrastination.
I have a couple of ideas for you to stay engaged with your biz and make sure you are moving forward before 2022 bows out.
If you are just starting out
This time of the year is great for building portfolio. People get time off work, and often family is in from out of town. You can reach out to friends and family and offer shoots for free or even as Christmas gifts. you can also pick one goal to establish your business professionally before the end of the year, such as building a website, picking a domain, registering your business or creating a logo.
If you are somewhat experience but not quite a business
This is a good time to test some marketing skills with the excuse of Christmas and the holidays. People always look for meaningful gifts to give, why not offer family shoot packages? Reach out to friends and family and offer your services.
You can also run a promo online for the holidays!
If you are a working photographer
December is a great time to close the year. I like to review my finances and leave all my tax information ready for my accountant. There is no better feeling than sending out the year report on January 1st and know you are starting fresh.
Reviewing your shoots from the year is a great idea also. I like to select the best images from every shoot and update my website. You can even do a roundup on socials and show your work.
Needless to say, offering your services via gift cards is a great way to squeeze in a few more sales before the end of the year.
You have just under 4 weeks before the year is over.... What will you do with this time?
